5 Yogurt Based Homemade Face Packs
For me the most cooling item that comes from the kitchen is "DAHI" (curd or more popularly known as Yogurt in western countries). Apart from the super cooling effect it gives me on my skin, I find dahi very soothing, calming and hydrating. I rush to dahi for help when I am tanned or when my skin is behaving irrationally.
So here are some curd or yogurt based face packs which you must try if you like home remedies. These face packs are simple and can be created in no time and that too with simple ingredients from your kitchen.
On days when you feel lazy or find yourself hard pressed for time, just whip some curd and apply it as it is on your face. Leave it for 20 minutes and wash it off. Follow this up with some generous spritz of rose water on the face.
2. Curd mixed with turmeric
Turmeric is known to have healing properties. Mix 1 teaspoon of turmeric with 3 teaspoons of curd and make a thick paste. Apply it on your face and allow it to dry. Wash it off after about 15 mins. After rinsing off, you can rub some ice on your face.
3. Curd and honey face pack
Mix 2 teaspoons of honey with 3 teaspoons of yogurt. Apply this mix on you face and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse off your face and you will hopefully find your skin, smoother and softer.
4. Curd and besan (gram flour) face pack:
This face pack is quite popular and does a great job on oily skin. Mix 1 tablespoon of besan with 1 tablespoon of dahi and make a paste. You can add some rose water to this for some fragrance and cooling. Rinse off after 20 minutes with luke warm water.
Mix 1 tablespoon of lemon juice with 2 tablespoons of curd. Apply on the face and rinse off after 15 - 20 minutes. Lemon Juice is rich in Vitamin C and has bleaching properties. A pack made with curd and lemon helps in clearing out blemishes.
