LeEco Le 2 Superphone - First Impressions and Review
The first thing you notice about Le 2 is its sleek slim design and the 5.5-inch Full HD display. Successor to the much talked about Le 1s from the house of LeEco, it is an important part of its vision of future. We managed to get our hands on the device to find out if it delivered value to its users.
With lot of smart phones available in the market nowadays in the INR 10,000- 15,000 price range, Le 2 has packed a punch to stand out! And who has not heard about the digital lossless music experience it offers with its next-generation Type-C connector, which retires the old 3.5 mm audio jack. We decided to carry it around with us to see if the super phone matched our expectation and to see if the battery lasted the entire day, we went through our active social lifestyle.
We booted the phone & up popped a “I am not a phone but an integrated Internet ecosystem”......and we can’t wait to experience it, we thought!
The slightly curved edges of the rose gold coloured all-metal body phone was a likable feature and it made it easy to carry it around. The display is vivid with good colour reproduction & very crisp. Operating the phone & switching between apps was a fairly smooth & easy experience. Often we operate multiple apps & the Le 2 allowed us to handle them with ease. The dual sim support was particularly useful as many of us carry two numbers.
We then turned to the feature that we use the most in our regular lives- the camera. We snapped some pictures on a rainy day & in low light conditions during different times. Every time, the camera clicked pictures fast, didn't stutter & reproduced good colours. In a couple of close shots, the camera did capture tiny details like pretty raindrops. We could not resist clicking a selfie & were pleased with the results. It’s safe to say that the Le 2 has one of the best cameras amongst other phones in similar price range.
The 3000mAh battery lasted the whole day as we clicked pictures, spoke actively, posted updates on social media & much more. Le 2 supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology, a boon for heavy users.
The one challenge that we faced was getting used to the absence of audio jack & often tried finding it. Le 2 comes with a new technology called CDLA and USB headphones. Listening to music was a seamless experience though.
The LeEco Le 2 priced at Rs 11,999 comes with free LeEco Membership (worth Rs. 4,900) & early birds also got a set of CDLA earphones (worth Rs. 1,990) for free. Other notable features include bio-metric security & Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. With good looks & extremely good price point, no doubt Le 2 has received tremendous response in the market & is garnering super fans all across the country. As we switched off the super phone, a message popped up that read “I’m getting smarter everyday” that made us smile & think “so are we”.
